This project was a challenge to design numerous deliverables for a company, and maintain a cohesive brand through all shapes and sizes. I was required to design a vehicle, letterheads, business cards, merchandise, and uniforms that would be cohesive together or stand on their own separately.

As someone who paddleboards every summer, I knew I wanted to make a brand inspired by the famous pirates of old, such as Blackbeard and Edward Low. The biggest challenge was deciding which pirate I would be inspired the most by, (it ended up being Edward Low).
My original idea was to stick with the reference I had of Edward Low's flag and make my design red and black, but the red vibrated too much with the black and I had to change directions. I decided a yellow and cyan color palette was more pleasing to the eyes.
I also designed a uniform and merchandise for this fictional company, as well as a vehicle wrap for a truck that would theoretically house their equipment. I made sure to stay on-brand, and sports-appropriate with a water bottle, shirts, and even a custom paddle board.
This was a fun personal project that pushed me out of my comfort zone with the color palette, as bright colors are not generally something I use frequently (I have been told by professors during other projects that I'm not allowed to use certain colors). I think this came out very well in the end despite my challenges, and I would love to have the paddleboard I designed in real life.
